St. Nicholas Orthodox Christian School held its 6th annual Golf Tournament on Saturday, July 28th 2007 at The Eagles Golf Club in Odessa, FL.
The tournament was enjoyed by 116 golfers and 12 volunteers. Proceeds from this fund-raising event benefited the Christian School Scholarship Fund. Father John Bociu of St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Cathedral started the morning off with a prayer. Golfers enjoyed breakfast, range balls, gift bags, a challenging morning on the Lakes course with hole-in-one prizes on all par 3 holes, lunch, door prizes and fellowship. Father Joseph Samaan of St. Stefanos Greek Orthodox Church gave the prayer for the afternoon luncheon.
First place gross with a score of 56 went to Costa Grigoris, Angelo Tsardoulias, Marcus Howard and Rick Burger. Second place gross with a score of 57 went to Alex Konstantin, Mike Beckett, Andrew Tsongranis and Dean Theophilopoulos. First place net with a score of 55 went to Brian Eilers, Stan Holly and Jim Bearb. Second place net with a score of 57 went to Walt Bowlin, Russ Allen, Jimmy Hourdas and Nick Benover. Also receiving trophies and prizes were Mike Groves (putting contest winner), Stan Holly and Darlene McCart(longest drive), and Angelo Tsardoulias and Bob Deherty. (closest to the pin)
